Assistant Golf Superintendent (Annual Salary 50k-60k)
JOB TITLE: Assistant Course Superintendent

JOB DESCRIPTION
Mayfield Golf Club is a busy 27-hole Public Golf Facility located in Caledon, just north of Brampton.
We are seeking the services of an Assistant Course Superintendent who will be an integral part of our management team, working daily with our Golf Course Superintendent and Golf Course Mechanic to meet the needs and expectations of our customers. Our Club is a progressive employer who places considerable emphasis on the personal growth and development of our employees.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record Keeping
- Conduct fertilizer and pesticide applications.
- Daily maintenance and operation of irrigation system
- IPM training and familiarity with surveying the Golf Course in accordance with IPM standards
- Assist Mechanic with equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Other duties related to the care and maintenance of the Golf course to achieve approved Course standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A graduate of a recognized Turf Management/Maintenance Program
- 3 to 5 years experience on the Turf Management Department of a recognized Golf Facility
- Solid work ethic and love for the game of golf
- Leadership skills to train and motivate support staff.
Golf Course Mechanic ($25 – $35 per hour/Annual Salary 50k-60k)
JOB TITLE: Golf Course Mechanic

TERMS: Full-Time, Year-Round Position
SALARY: $25 – $35 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience ($50,000- $60,000 per annum) plus Benefit Package.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Mayfield Golf Club is a busy 27-hole Public Golf Facility located in Caledon, just north of Brampton.
We are seeking the services of a Golf Course Mechanic who will be an integral part of our management team, working daily with our Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to meet the conditioning standards set by our Club to meet the needs and expectations of our customers. Our Club is a progressive employer who places considerable emphasis on the personal growth and development of our employees.
The position functions to carry out the maintenance and repair of all Club equipment and vehicles, including our cart fleet.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out repairs and maintenance to all cutting and conditioning equipment on an as necessary basis to ensure “down time” is kept to a minimum and Club standards are met on a regular basis.
- Schedule and perform preventative maintenance to all cutting and conditioning equipment on a formalized basis to reduce break downs, lost time on the job and to ensure this is done in accordance with all health and safety regulations.
- Carry out regular sharpening duties to all appropriate equipment to ensure that equipment is performing at maximum efficiency.
- Ensure all equipment and vehicles (including carts) are set up and ready to go daily and communicate effectively with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent on this function.
- In conjunction with the Superintendent and Assistant, provide written and verbal training to all staff to ensure they can safely and efficiently operate the equipment on the golf course.
- Trouble shoot, often on the golf course, to determine the cause of break downs and work efficiently and effectively to repair that equipment or get it off the golf course so it does not impact customers on the course.
- Inventory all Club equipment and ensure appropriate spare parts are available when needed or, efficiently, order such equipment, as necessary.
- Assist in winter maintenance and snow removal as a regular part of the job.
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent and / or Assistant.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of small and large equipment motors and repair.
- A team player who has a “work hard and get things done” mentality.
- A good communicator with solid organizational skills.
- Work well with deadlines.
- Grade 12 and some post secondary education would be helpful.
Golf Course Maintenance Staff ($16 – $20 per hour)

We are currently looking for a Golf Course Maintenance Staff.
Responsibilities:
- General course maintenance duties include but are not limited to mowers, utility vehicles, and related equipment.
- Raking and maintenance of green surrounds, bunkers, and tees
- Operation of light equipment, including leaf blowers, string trimmers, power tools and mowers.
- Other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent
Qualifications:
- Must be punctual.
- Must be able to work early morning shifts.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays when required.
- Must be able to complete assigned tasks and work unsupervised.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License and have a safe driving record.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Knowledge of and appreciation for the game of golf is an asset.
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Previous golf course or landscaping experience is beneficial but not necessary.
Job Type: Full-time Seasonal
Rate of Pay: $14.50-$15.50 per hour
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends
COVID-19 considerations:
All staff must complete and submit a self-assessment quiz at the start of each shift—all equipment to be sanitized each day before use. Masks are mandatory while working around other staff members or in proximity and around the maintenance yard.
