Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Working with The General Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Role modelling hospitality to our guests and team members
- Communicating and connecting with guests to ensure satisfaction at an exceptional level
- Implement initiatives to increase sales and increase profit
- Assist in the hiring process, including conducting interviews, onboarding, and training for multiple positions
- Assist in developing Supervisors
- Oversee all front-of-house leader areas to ensure success
- Tracking Food & Retail Inventory and Placing Orders with vendors
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Smart Serve Certified
- Must be able to read, write, and demonstrate effective verbal and written communication with Guests, Team Members, various business departments, and vendors
- Excellent customer service skills and a strong work ethic
- Organization, planning, and time management skills with the ability and initiative to react effectively and quickly to unexpected circumstances
- Ability to read and understand financial data
- Ability to build positive working relationships and provide clear direction and feedback
- Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism
- Handle stress associated with responding to/solving problems.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment, as well as a creative approach to formulating responses
- Always present a neat, professional appearance and demeanour.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Accurately complete paperwork and reports.

Education and Work Experience:
- A minimum of one (1) year of restaurant/hospitality experience required
- A knowledge of Golf is an asset
- Previous experience leading a high-volume restaurant preferred
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
- A Diploma in Hospitality Management is an Asset
Work Environment:
- Our workplace is a Golf Course; therefore, a successful candidate must be able to work around changing schedules–including throughout the day, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
Job Type: Full-time Seasonal (March to December)
Pay: $18 to $22/hr + Tip Sharing

Customer Service Representative (Food & Beverage / Reception)
Job Type: Full & Part-Time Seasonal (April Through October)
Hourly Rate: $15.50 – $18 + Tip Sharing
Position Summary:
The Customer Service Representative is key to the quality of service we provide for our guests. Their role combines the traditional functions of an attendant in the Pro Shop and Food Service. The goal is to streamline our service points and reduce the number of lines a customer must wait. We want to get customers playing Golf on the course as quickly as possible. Why wait to pay for a green fee and then wait again to order food? Why not combine two service points into one customer-friendly experience?
Essential Roles & Responsibilities:
- Processing all guest food, beverage and Golf Accessory purchases,
- Registering and Coordinating payment for a golfers’ tee time,
- Handling guest inquiries,
- Booking tee times and lessons,
- Work with other staff members to ensure an efficient player coordination process.
Candidates must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Accordingly, we will make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Open and close the pro shop while adhering to the opening/closing checklist
- Provide prompt, efficient, and gracious service to all guests
- Has strong knowledge of menus, makes recommendations, and answers food and beverage questions.
- Can describe all menu items and daily specials, prices, and food preparation methods.
- Can clear the tables in the Main Dining room and on the Patio.
- Prepare regular and special diet foods according to prescribed menus and recipes, using standard food preparation utensils such as knives, spoons, tongs and whips.
- Follow established schedules in cooking, baking, sanitation, and related activities and correctly measure food recipes utilizing the standardized metric system.
- Maintain proper condition and cleanliness of Snack Bar areas and service equipment.
- Report all equipment problems to the Customer Service Supervisor or Clubhouse Manager.
- Assist in the restocking and replenishing supplies following ATGC opening and closing procedures.
- Fill in the Requisition and Transfer Form and keep an accurate count of the Snack Bar inventory.
- Maintain records on matters such as food received, prepared, and waste.
- Clean work area and equipment using broom, mop, sponge, cleaning solution, or other appropriate tools or materials. Store food properly and safely, marking the date and item name.
- Take orders and serve all food and beverage requests.
- Works in close collaboration with On Course Customer Service Attendants to help ensure an efficient player registration process and proper pace of play.
- Communicates effectively with professional staff to provide prompt service to guests requiring technical assistance or lessons.
- Maintains strong knowledge of pro shop merchandise and assists with inventory, restocking and designing golf displays.
- Routinely inspects all guest areas (restrooms, lobby, Patio, dining room) to ensure that each work-related area is clean and organized.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Work in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations and the Club’s Health and Safety policies and procedures, specifically section 28.
- Use or wear any equipment, protective devices or clothing required by the Club.
- Report to your manager/supervisor any known equipment or protective device that may be dangerous, missing, or defective.
- Report any known workplace hazard or violation of the Act or regulations to your manager/supervisor.
- Report all accidents, illness, or “near miss” incidents immediately to your manager/supervisor.
- Not remove or disable any protective device.
- Handle hazardous substances according to the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System regulations.
- Work safely and not use or operate any equipment in a way that may endanger any worker.
- Not engage in any prank, contest, a feat of strength, running or rough and boisterous conduct that may jeopardize your safety or the safety and well-being of others.

- Candidates over 18 must be Smart Serve Certified or ability to get within one month of the date of hire
- Demonstrates the ability to resolve conflicts and de-escalate situations.
- Can read and write and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and clients.
- Understands and Demonstrates knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act–specifically, WHMIS, the Sanitation Code and related legislation.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Can perform various cleaning duties.
- Willingness to participate in in-service education programs.
Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (But Not Required)
- Two to three years of experience in restaurants & banquets
- A Food handlers Certificate/Certification
- Current Standard First Aid / C.P.R. C from an accredited organization
Working Conditions
- Able and willing to lift 30lbs to move stock.
- Able to move tables, chairs and other furniture when required.
- Able to work on feet for the entire shift.
- Available to work varied schedules, holidays and weekends.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
