Today we are caught between two opposing coaching
methodologies. On the one hand,
traditional coaches work from the premise that each athlete has a unique
swing, and that repeatable swings evolve through hours of regimented practice.
Conversely, modernists embrace a singular ideal swing model--constantly
moving their athletes toward this paradigm.
In the end, one is left wondering which method is correct.
Intuitively, we know that there are common attributes
among successful swing motions. Most
players share a common grip, stance and general body movements.
We also understand that there are a wide variety of body types, levels
of strength, coordination, and flexibility. Consequently,
it is reasonable to accept variations between two individuals' movements.
While we once examined our body movements in isolation, clearly they
are connected. By understanding the
connection (Link) between parts, we develop a more complete model of a swing.
Furthermore, this examination of a 'complete' movement provides us with
insight into what defines efficient motions versus those motions that
needlessly expend energy and often result in injury.
I invite you to join our program and open yourself to an
entirely unique learning experience. If
you want to hit the ball more consistently, longer and more accurately, then
take the first step and book a consultation. Let
us explain how we can help you become the golfer you have always wanted to be.
